Introduction
In mid-2011 the Australian Institute of Architects and Consult Australia formed a BIM and IPD Steering Group with the intention of developing the first comprehensive collection of practice documents related to BIM in Australia, for practitioners who work using BIM and who aspire to implement IPD on their projects.
The Steering Group formed four expert multi-disciplinary working groups with focus on specific areas that culminated in the release of 21 separate documents published on this website in August 2012, under the following themes:
- Project Plans
- Legal & Procurement
- Education
- Outreach
Since that time, three further papers have been published under the BIM Outreach theme to provide guidance in the areas of: BIM for Interior Designers; Surveying for BIM; and BIM for Specialist Sub-contractors and Trades. The papers are all available for free download.
