The 2014 National Architecture Conference making:2014 take place from 8 to 10 May. A range of fringe events and activities will take place over the conference weekend, including the official opening party on Thursday 8 May and the Public Forum on Friday 9 May. On Friday 9 May and Saturday 10 May the main conference sessions will be held at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Conference delegates will be given the opportunity to discover the richness of Perth’s architecture, culture, places and spaces through a broad range of events that promise to be unique and engaging. By foot, bike, car or coach, you can explore Perth’s exemplary historical, modernist and contemporary architecture and gain intimate access to local architectural practices and studios. The Fringe Events for making:2014 have aimed to broaden the experience for delegates while celebrating Western Australian architectural practice and culture. We encourage all delegates to explore what is on offer and connect with new places, people and experiences.
Open House Perth will give you the opportunity to visit projects in a range of flavors: old, new, big, small, residential and more. Tours will include work from established and emerging practices, featuring the works from the likes of local firms like KADA and Chindarsi Architects. There will be a selection of tours offering insight into the changing face of architecture in Western Australia.
The program would not have been possible without the contribution of local volunteers within the Fringe Event Committee, SONA and Merge; and without the support of Major Sponsors:
The Western Australian Department of Culture and the Arts
The Department of Finance’s Office of the Government Architect
The Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority
Open House Perth
And The University of Western Australia
