Welcome to the second series of Agony Architects – where some of Australia’s wisest and most amusing architects answer the tricky questions. We hope their words of wisdom will answer some of the questions university can’t, helping you learn what is really involved in starting an architectural practice, from dreaming of being your own boss, to how to get clients, from the lows of no jobs on the books, to the high of making your first profit and then what it takes to keep it all going. Agony Architects charts the do’s and don’ts of hanging out your shingle, dreaming big, starting small, making business plans, changing personal plans or having no plan at all. Agony Architects provides the inside word on what it takes to make it ‘in the real world’ of architecture.
