Image by John Gollings<\/p>\n<p><b>Fender Katsalidis<\/b>\u00a0received the prestigious award for\u00a0<b>2 &amp; 4 National Circuit Precinct<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018A clear and sensitive introduction of new commercial architecture into the heritage-listed former patents office and a brown field site that creates a comfortable and inviting space consistent with the aim of increasing urban density around the parliamentary triangle,\u2019 stated the jury.<\/p>\n<p>The project was also recognised with the\u00a0<b>Sir John Overall Award for Urban Design<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>The venue of the 2013 ACT Architecture Awards,\u00a0<b>Village Centre \u2013 National Arboretum Canberra\u00a0<\/b>by\u00a0<b>Tonkin Zulaikha Greer<\/b>\u00a0was recognised by the jury with the<b>Romaldo Giugola Award for Public Architecture<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Through the application of distinctive materials and a curvilinear form that displays subtle empathy with surrounding landforms, the architects have ensured that the National Arboretum will become one of Canberra\u2019s most notable iconic buildings.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/wp.architecture.com.au\/news-media\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2013\/06\/Village-Centre-National-Arboretum-by-Tonkin-Zulaikha-Greer_Brett-Boardman.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Village Centre - National Arboretum by Tonkin Zulaikha Greer. Image by Brett Boardman<\/p>\n<p>A house that \u2018is elegant, beautifully detailed and bespoke\u2019 has taken out the top residential architecture \u2013 houses award.<\/p>\n<p>Produced by a father and son team of owner, architect and builder,\u00a0<b>Knobel House<\/b>\u00a0by\u00a0<b>Anthony Knobel Architect<\/b>\u00a0received the\u00a0<b>Malcolm Moir and Heather Sutherland Award for Residential Architecture\u00a0<\/b>and the\u00a0<b>ACT Sustainability Award<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The close quarters to the neighbours on all four boundaries is forgotten in this beautiful and remarkably private home,\u2019 the jury reflected.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<b>W Hayward Morris Award for Interior Architecture<\/b>\u00a0and the\u00a0<b>InLite Light in Architecture Prize<\/b>were awarded to\u00a0<b>St Mary Mackillop College Chapel<\/b>\u00a0by<b>Collins Caddaye Architects\u00a0<\/b>for \u2018an absolute transformation from a dark and internal space, to a naturally-lit and beautiful place for inquiry and contemplation\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/wp.architecture.com.au\/news-media\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2013\/06\/St-Mary-Mackillop-College-Chapel-by-Collins-Caddaye-Architects_Stefan-Postles.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"St Mary Mackillop College Chapel by Collins Caddaye Architects.
