Dear Members,

March has been a busy month for jurors and teams associated with the 2019 International Chapter Architecture Awards and I’m excited to inform you that we have received a record number of entries – 39! An impressive improvement on previous years!

Chaired by Chapter Councillor Annelise Tiller (based in Dubai) our 2019 Awards jury is composed of:

• Richard Blythe (Dean, College of Architecture and Urban StuVirginia USA)
• Dr Julie Eizenberg (Owner and Principal, Koning Eizenberg Architecture, LA)
• Carmen Perreira (Associate Partner at Mecanoo Architecten, Netherlands)
• Tim Ross (Modernistic design journalist and Australian Comedian)

The winners will be announced at the official International Chapter Architecture Awards presentation event, which this year will be held in Dubai in late June. The awards event will coincide with the annual International Chapter Council face-to-face strategic planning meeting which is also being held in Dubai. In addition to our chapter planning sessions and the awards event, the meeting program for Councillors will include a visit to the Expo 2020 site, and events with Austrade and local business community. More information will be provided in next month’s E-News.

In closing, I would like to remind all members to look out for and complete the Institute’s recently released Member Survey. The information collected will inform the Institute’s membership review, the future fee structure and member value proposition. This is your opportunity to have a say and be actively part of our decision making process.
