2014 Entries<\/a><\/h4><\/div><div style=\"clear:both\"><\/div><\/div><\/li><\/ul><br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"singular-panel singular-light aia-panel panel03\">\n<div class=\"singular-content\">\n<h4 id=\"jury\">Jury<\/h4>\n<p><strong><em>Peter Wilson Aff RAIA (Chair)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Peter Wilson was born in Melbourne in 1950. After studying architecture at the University of Melbourne, he went on to the AA in London in 1972, where he met Julia Bolles-Wilson. In 1974 he received the AA Diploma Prize and was a teaching assistant to Elia Zenghelis and Rem Koolhaas and subsequently Diploma Unit Master for eight years. Originally established in London in 1980, the WILSON PARTNERSHIP ultimately evolved into BOLLES+WILSON based in Munster, Germany.<\/p>\n<p>As director of BOLLES+WILSON, Wilson has authored numerous outstanding projects. This work has been widely published and has received many awards. It is not easy to gain commissions in Europe, however Wilson\u2019s firm\u2019s ongoing success with international competitions since the practice\u2019s establishment has intensified his reputation and further supplements his powerful collection of architectural works.<\/p>\n<p>In April 2009, his contribution to the profession, together with that of partner Julia Bolles-Wilson, was acknowledged with a Gold Medal by the XI International Triennale of Architecture in Cracow. To that honour, Peter Wilson added the 2013 Gold Medal, the Australian Institute of Architects\u2019 highest honour. Recently, Peter Cook reviewed the Bolles+Wilson competition-winning Munster Library in&nbsp;<em>The Architectural Review<\/em>&nbsp;and described Peter Wilson as the leading protagonist and most talented creator of a new relevant architectural stream, characterising his work as \u2018Australian\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Fiona Nixon RAIA<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fiona has split her 25 year career between Melbourne and Singapore, working with firms including Wood Marsh, DCM, Kerry Hill, RMJM and Woodhead. For five years she ran her own practice, Minifie Nixon, with Paul Minifie. She is now partnered with Karen Lim in Singapore-based Atelier Lim and Tan (ALT), employing her alias \u2018Mrs Tan\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Fiona\u2019s most significant projects include the Lalu Hotel Sun Moon Lake (Taiwan), Victorian College of the Arts Centre for Ideas (Melbourne), DBS Bank Headquarters (Singapore), and the Du Shu Hu Higher Education Academy, now Monash University, (Suzhou). Her work with Minifie Nixon on the Australian Wildlife Health Centre, in outer Melbourne, earned the practice several awards, including the Victorian Premier\u2019s Design Award for Cultural Architecture 2008 and the Australian Institute of Architects William Wardell Award for Institutional Architecture 2006.<\/p>\n<p>Fiona received a Bachelor of Architecture and a Graduate Diploma in Computing from RMIT University. She is an APEC and Victoria registered architect and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects, for which she has chaired the International Committee.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Gwyneth Choi RAIA<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Gwyneth Choi was born in Hong Kong 1983 and completed her bachelor degrees in Architecture and Planning at the University of Melbourne in 2008. She is currently a registered architect in Victoria and an active member of Institute.<\/p>\n<p>She has worked for a number of international practices in Melbourne including Denton Corker Marshall, John Wardle Architects and Grimshaw Architects.
