AIA \u2013 Small Practice Group<\/strong><\/p>\n

PROPOSED SCHEDULE FOR SMALL PRACTICE GROUP MEETINGS FOR 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

The following is a draft schedule of topics for meetings of the Institute of Architects Small Practice Group, who generally meet for \u2018round table discussions\u2019, on dedicated topics on the last Thursday of 10 months of the year. Presenters are still to be sourced for most topics and topics and their order may be varied.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

27 February <\/strong>– A discussion on \u2018Housing Choices\u2019<\/p>\n

27 March <\/strong>\u2013 An Accountant\u2019s perspective:\u00a0 This discussion will cover a range of aspects including architectural practice accounting, development funding and Future proofing are proposed.<\/p>\n

24 April <\/strong>– A discussion with Environment and Sustainable Development: ESD, formally ACTPLA, will cover \u00a0approval processes and interface for Architects.<\/p>\n

29 May <\/strong>– Presentation by another Institute Committee<\/p>\n

26 June <\/strong>– Dispute Resolution:\u00a0What happens when things go wrong?<\/p>\n

31 July <\/strong>– Continuing Professional Development \u2013 CPD:\u00a0A look at the CPD system, recording and how to make it work best for practitioners.<\/p>\n

28 August <\/strong>– Archiving, including file & data storage options, and the limits of liability.<\/p>\n

25 September <\/strong>\u2013\u00a0The Small Practice Group will go over their own projects: Participants are to give a \u20185 min\u2019 snapshot of a project they are working on and aspects of it.<\/p>\n

30 October <\/strong>– Photography \u2013 Options for Architectural photography, and drones: We will seek the attendance of an Architectural Photographer<\/p>\n

27 November <\/strong>– Trees \u2013 work near, removal, approvals, and\/or Bushfire Zones:\u00a0Analysis, reporting, issues and meeting the NCC and approval requirements.<\/p>\n
