Twenty-three local projects will vie for architecture honours in the 2013 Australian Institute of Architects\u2019\u00a0Newcastle Architecture Awards<\/b>\u00a0to be announced on\u00a0Friday 8 March<\/b>\u00a0at the Newcastle Museum.<\/p>\n

The entries spanning commercial, public, residential \u2013houses, residential \u2013multiple housing, and small project architecture will be judged by a respected jury of local and state architects and academics.<\/p>\n

Led by Jury Chair and Practice Principle at McKendry-Hunt Architects,\u00a0Debra McKendry<\/b>, the jury includes;\u00a0Ramsey Awad<\/b>, Senior Lecturer at the School of Architecture and Built Environment at the University of Newcastle;\u00a0Robert Donaldson<\/b>, Trustee of The Architecture Foundation;\u00a0Emili Fox<\/b>, Director of Fox Johnston in Sydney; and\u00a0Peter Johnson<\/b>, former Director of EJE Architecture (retired).<\/p>\n

Winners from the night will have the opportunity to present their projects to the NSW Architecture Awards\u2019 juries for consideration of state honours.<\/p>\n

Entries in the 2013 Newcastle Architecture Awards include a surfhouse, a motorcycle showroom, primary schools, a medical centre and a community centre among others. View all Newcastle entries\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
