Over the last few months I\u2019ve had the privilege of meeting with a number of you as members to discuss the strategic direction that we are developing within Chapter Council \u2013 increasing the relevance of the profession and growing the areas and markets in which we can practice.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve tested the ideas of\u00a0developing business with China,\u00a0reforming the planning system,\u00a0forming practice \u2018clusters\u2019 to pursue work in areas such as small practice and aged care\u00a0and\u00a0enhancing our role in residential design, to determine whether these initiatives are things that you as members see as relevant and worth pursuing.<\/p>\n

The overall feedback has been positive, with some valuable insights in to how we might shape the themes and make them more incisive.<\/p>\n

During this second half of this Chapter Council term, we will be focused on their implementation. However, it is a big agenda, and not something that we can deliver as a Chapter Council on our own. We need the assistance of you as members.<\/p>\n

As I have noted previously, these themes are specifically targeted at increasing business opportunities for all of us, and your participation in helping shape and deliver them is welcomed. Last week the SA Chapter emailed a flyer detailing the myriad of ways members can participate in Chapter activities and advocacy. It\u2019s here<\/a> again as a reminder.<\/p>\n

I\u2019d urge each of you to have a read of it and think about how you can contribute to our efforts to strengthen the profession.
