Photography: Max Dupain&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\"><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Do you have a longstanding, favourite building in NSW you feel should be recognised with an award?&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">Open to buildings of at least 25 years of age, the Enduring Architecture Award recognises achievement for the design of buildings of outstanding merit, which remain important as high quality works of architecture when considered in a contemporary context. Nominations are welcome from Institute members, non-members and non-architects, but must provide adequate content for consideration by the jury.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\"><strong>Nominations for the 2021 NSW Enduring Architecture Award are open from Friday 3 July 2020 and will close on Friday 9 April 2021<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<!-- remove point 1 --><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"><a class=\"aia-button custom-button\" styles=\"color:#b54f92;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.formpl.us\/form\/1365346012\" title=\"SUBMIT HERE\"><span>SUBMIT HERE<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">Please note that this award category is designed to recognise the enduring features of the original work, not any substantial adaptive re-use, which should be considered under Category 7: HERITAGE (see <a href=\"http:\/\/wp.architecture.com.au\/nswawards\/how-to-apply\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NSW Architecture Awards<\/a>).<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\"> Projects will be works considered technically advanced or innovative for their time, which remain symbolically significant, are exponents of creative leadership or are works of national significance. Recommendations can be submitted via an online form each year following an open call for nominations. Nominations must provide adequate content for consideration by the jury, including a project description and\/or a statement of significance, as well as any materials which may assist the jury such as drawings and photographs.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\"><br \/>\nPlease note that a short statement related to the heritage\/cultural significance of the building is required.<br \/>\nIf the building already has a heritage listing, the statement of significance can be found by searching for the relevant listing at: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.environment.nsw.gov.au\/heritageapp\/heritagesearch.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/www.environment.nsw.gov.au\/heritageapp\/heritagesearch.aspx<\/a>.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\"><br \/>\nIf the building has no formal listing, please try to outline the project\u2019s significance yourself. If you are preparing your own statement, the Institute\u2019s Register of Significant Buildings provides a guide for what should be included in a Statement of Significance:<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\"><a href=\"http:\/\/repository.architecture.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/MASTER_AIA-Register-of-Significant-Architecture_July-2019.pdf\">AUSTRALIAN INSTITUTE OF ARCHITECTS REGISTER OF SIGNIFICANT BUILDINGS IN NSW.<\/a><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\">The award jury considers recommendations, previous award winners and the state\u2019s Register of Significant Twentieth Century Architecture to determine a shortlist of projects for consideration. The jury will incorporate any new recommendations on a master list that will be revisited annually. One project has been&nbsp;awarded at state level annually since 2003.
