Another year is coming to a close so it’s time to wish all our members a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year filled with laughter and joy with those you love. It’s been a huge year for the Chapter delivering close to 400 events across QLD and our many programs and engaging with upwards of 4000 people within the design community. A big thank you goes out to all our volunteers and partners whose support ensures we can deliver great events including CPD, Awards and networking.

Change is always occurring as we test new ideas, and respond to member needs. 2019 will be no different as we look to continuously improve. The Regional Awards events will be reinstated as a shortlisting event and work is being done with regional representatives to plan these events in line with regional member needs. The State Awards looks to be bigger and better than ever with a great venue to be announced early next year. Our Brisbane Metro Events include an Art and Architecture series, including partnering with the Maud Street Photo Gallery in February to celebrate the John Gollings “History of The Built World” exhibition in February and an Art and Architecture Exhibition at the Chapter in March showcasing artists RW Allen and Jane du Rand.

The second half of the year will include our Out There Speaker Series to showcase the QLD Architecture Award winners and a Regional Symposium in Cairns planned for October. There is absolutely every reason to get involved with the Chapter next year and celebrate our QLD Architectural community.

Last but not least we finished the year with our annual Christmas Party co-Hosted with EmAGN last Thursday. What a fabulous night filled with laughter, music including a great performance by Student member Osman Jarel, good conversation, some questionable dance skills as the night progressed and a stand out team costume of fabulous Christmas Lobsters.
